SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT

Most Social Media accounts have one thing in common. They are keyed to and administrated by an email address.

Keeping track of your club’s social media accounts can become a juggling act if there is a lack of consistency setting up these accounts.

Toastmasters clubs are fluid; officers change and members come and go. So there needs to be a reliable and easy way to pass forward the club’s digital assets from year to year.

The best practice is for the club to have its own email address.

Optimally, it would be:

· FREE

· Webmail

· Versatile (easily integrates with other apps)

Here are some resources:

In my opinion, there is Gmail and then there is the rest of the pack (Zoho, Yahoo! Mail, iCloud Mail…)

I find Gmail extremely easy to use with its seamless integration with YouTube, Google Drive and Chrome.

No matter, which provider you choose… I recommend that your club’s email address look like: yourclubname@

Use the club’s email address for all social media accounts!

If you already have Social Media Accounts that are NOT associated with a unique email address for your club…

Each social media platform has a procedure for changing an account’s identifying email address.

Facebook

Twitter

Instagram

YouTube (it’s not difficult, but I have found all of these descriptions helpful)

or

or

or

LinkedIn

Social Media is not going to fade away any time soon. Now is the time to tidy up your club’s social media. It will definitely “spark joy” with your club’s future officers!
